Overview
Evergreen//One™ is the Everpure™ Storage-as-a-Service offering for block, file, and object storage, delivered on Everpure-owned infrastructure at the customer’s chosen location and integrated with the public cloud for data mobility. It combines non-disruptive scaling, cloud-like operations, and pay-for-what-you-use economics, with all software features bundled into simple unit rates and consumption measured as Effective Used Capacity (EUC) rather than purchased capacity.
Evergreen//One is designed to shift storage from a box-buying model to a service model, so customers can focus on workloads and outcomes instead of hardware ownership, overprovisioning, and lifecycle management.
Key Benefits
Evergreen//One enables you to do the following:
-
Reduce upfront investment and lifecycle friction with no separate support or software charges and no end-of-contract penalties.
-
Align storage spend to actual data consumption through EUC-based billing with reserve and on-demand usage options.
-
Simplify operations through Everpure-managed capacity, performance, monitoring, reporting, and ongoing service reviews.
-
Ensure predictable outcomes with built-in service level agreements (SLAs) for availability, performance, buffer capacity, and energy efficiency.
-
Stay modern with included Purity software upgrades, non-disruptive scaling, and continuous service improvement over the life of the subscription.
Audience and Use Cases
Evergreen//One is for organizations that want the cloud operating model for storage without giving up control of where data lives or how services are consumed. It is especially well suited to teams trying to modernize storage operations, support hybrid-cloud strategies, or de-risk broader transformation programs.
The following table shows common use cases for different audiences.
| Audience | When to Use It |
|---|---|
|
Infrastructure and storage administrators |
When you want Pure to handle service delivery, monitoring, metering, and lifecycle operations while you keep visibility and control through Pure1. |
|
IT architects |
When you need a storage service that can span on-premises, co-location, and public cloud environments and support data mobility across them. |
|
IT and finance decision-makers |
When you want spending tied to actual usage instead of overprovisioned capacity and want to avoid large upfront infrastructure commitments. |
|
Transformation and platform leaders |
When you are planning a storage refresh, data center consolidation, journey-to-cloud initiative, enhanced data protection strategy, or modernization program. |
How It Works
-
You provide workload, growth, location, and term requirements, and Everpure maps those requirements to the right Evergreen//One service family, tier, and initial reserve commitment based on EUC.
-
Everpure deploys the required infrastructure, configures the service, and sets up monitoring, alerting, and customer access in Pure1.
-
You bring workloads onto the service while Everpure meters usage in EUC and manages the environment to maintain the contracted service levels.
-
As your needs change, Everpure scales and adjusts the underlying infrastructure, and you can increase commitment or continue consuming on demand without replatforming the environment.
Prerequisites
| Requirement | What You Need |
|---|---|
|
Active Evergreen//One subscription |
A licensed Evergreen//One environment that Pure can monitor and manage over time. |
|
Pure1 management access |
Pure1 with Edge Services enabled, because the required Entitlement Agent is installed from the Edge Services area in Pure1. |
|
Entitlement Agent |
The Evergreen//One Entitlement Agent installed on each array that is part of the Evergreen//One license. |
|
Minimum supported software version |
Purity version 6.7 or later on each array where the Entitlement Agent will be installed. |
|
Required admin role |
A user with the Resource Admin or Org Admin role to perform the installation. |
|
Service family and tier alignment |
A workload fit to the published Evergreen//One service catalog, which currently includes //Unified Block & File tiers and tier-specific minimum reserve commitments such as 50 TiB for Performance, Premium, and Ultra, and 200 TiB for Capacity. |
Deployment
Evergreen//One is not a feature you turn on in a single wizard. To get started, open Pure1, enable Edge Services, and then go to the Edge Services page to install the Entitlement Agent from the Agents tab for each eligible array in your Evergreen//One license. After the agent is installed, Pure1 automatically handles the entitlement flow for those arrays.
