Purpose
This article describes the supported procedure for restoring Oracle RAC databases on Everpure FlashArray. It covers three operating models:
-
Restore in place after corruption or an approved rollback.
-
Restore to new volumes on the same RAC cluster.
-
Clone to a separate RAC cluster for development, test, reporting, or refresh workflows.
The preferred workflow for non-production use is clone to an alternate cluster. It preserves source isolation, avoids overwriting production volumes, and provides the cleanest operational boundary.
This KB is the companion to Creating Storage Snapshots of Oracle RAC Databases on ASM Using Everpure FlashArray. It assumes the source snapshot was created with an Everpure FlashArray Protection Group that contains all database volumes and excludes the Grid Infrastructure OCR/voting disk group.
