Having a disaster protection plan is imperative for business continuity. FlashArray has a capability to replicate its snapshots to another FlashArray at a remote site. For details on FlashArray replication, refer to Asynchronous Replication Configuration and Best Practices. The Access Appliance also has a feature to provide replication of FlashArray snapshots to another Access Appliance at a remote site for disaster recovery as pictured in Figure 9. There are two types of replication offered by the Access Appliance:
- Episodic Replication – file system replication asynchronously.
- Continuous Replication – block level replication of volumes in synchronous or asynchronous modes.
