Why are the certification names and badges changing?

The updates reflect both new product capabilities and evolving market needs. The refreshed names and visuals better represent the skills and expertise you’ve demonstrated and align with our future direction.

What certs have changed?

The Cloud Block Store Specialist (CBSS) is now called the Cloud Specialist (CS). The Data Protection Professional (DPP) is now called Cyber Resilience Professional (CRP)

I currently hold the [Cloud Block Store Specialist (CBSS)] or [Data Protection Professional (DPP)]. What happens to my credential?

The [Cloud Block Store Specialist (CBSS)] or [Data Protection Professional (DPP)] is still valid through the regular expiration date, it’s just getting a name and image update. No immediate action is needed except to update your social media page(s) with the new badge.

Do I need to retake the exam or take any action?

You do NOT need to retake the exam unless your old credential is close to expiring. To showcase the new badge design on your social site(s), however, you DO need to remove the old badge and then manually reshare the new badge. A short video showing how to do this is here.

Will this affect my certification validity period?

No. Your original 3-year validity period remains unchanged. The updates only affect the badge title and image, not the duration of your credential.

What if I don't know when my certification expires?

Go to the CertMetric Login Page.

  1. If this is your first time accessing the portal, click on "Never logged in before?" on the landing page and follow the provided instructions. If you have an account but forgot your password, click "Forgot Password?"

  2. Once you successfully enter your account, click the down arrow beside "Exam history" and then click "Exams"

  3. You will see all of your exams, with expiration dates, listed.

At what point do I recertify?

Follow the standard IT Professional recertification guidelines here within six months of your expiration date. Take the exam that matches the updated badge title. Once you pass, your certification will be valid for an additional three years. Recertifying ensures your credential always reflects the latest technology and market needs!

What should I put on my résumé or LinkedIn profile?

If your badge has been refreshed, we highly recommend showcasing the updated badge on LinkedIn.
