Everpure Cloud Dedicated for Azure Non-Disruptive Controller Scaling
To help address ever-evolving demands of customer workloads, beginning with version 6.8.3, Everpure Cloud Dedicated for Azure introduces Non-Disruptive Controller Scaling. Controller Scaling allows for controllers of the same family to be upgraded from lower SKU to a higher SKU, for example from V10MP2-R2 to V20MP2-R2.
Examples of supported upgrades - within the same VM family:
-
V10MP2R2 (Standard_E16bds_v5) --> V20MP2R2 (Standard_E32bds_v5)
-
V10MUR1 (Standard_D32s_v3) --> V20MUR1 (Standard_D64s_v3)
Examples of unsupported upgrades - from one VM family to another:
-
V10MP2R2 (Standard_E16bds_v5) --> V20MUR1 (Standard_D64s_v3)
-
V10MUR1 (Standard_D32s_v3) --> V20MP2R2 (Standard_E32bds_v5)
Key characteristics of the Azure Everpure Cloud Dedicated Non-Disruptive Controller Scaling:
-
Similarly to Capacity expansion and Purity NDU, Azure Non-Disruptive Controller Scaling does not require downtime.
-
The process is fully driven by the customer. Only atypical situations require Pure Support intervention.
-
Virtual machines needed for new controllers are deployed and reserved up-front. This helps ensure smooth operation of the upgrade.
-
The entire process is designed to minimize error rate thanks to multiple check-points before, during and after the controller upgrade operation.
-
Comprehensive guidance and next steps suggestions are provided to customers in case of failed checks.
Fusion Presets and Workloads
Introduces a new, simplified, way to deploy complex workloads anywhere in your Fusion fleet. Presets are templatized workload deployment instructions that can be customized to enforce configuration standards and deploy workloads consistently and repeatedly to reduce risk.
