There are two views in replication manager: vVols Replication Manager Array View and vVols Replication Group Manager View.

Replication Manager View

For versions 5.5.0 and later, select the Replication Manager section from the home screen.

For versions before 5.5.0, from the main plugin page, an array will need to be selected and then the replication manager button can be clicked (number 2 in the image below).

Versions 5.5.0 and later

Versions before 5.5.0

Replication Manager Array View

After selecting an array and then clicking on Replication Manager, the Replication Manager Array View is visible. This page is designed to give a high level overview of all the array's protection groups (r-vvols-mssql-replication-1-hour-01 is selected in this example) that are found from the selected arrays VASA provider. These are mapped to a replication group object (sn1-x70-c05-33:r-vvols-mssql-replication-1-hour-01 in this example) in the vSphere plugin's replication manager.

  1. Name of the Array

  2. Sync Once (syncReplicationGroup) workflow button and replication group manage button

  3. Replication Group list

    • The format for a replication group is the name of the array followed by the name of the array's protection group: {array-name}:{pgroup-name}

  4. Which vCenter the replication group is found in

  5. The state of the replication group

    • This would be Source, Target, InTest or FailedOver

  6. The Peer Array(s)

    • Source or Target would refer to the relationship that the peer array reports for the replication group. Clicking on the array hyperlink will lead to that arrays replication manager view

  7. List of Virtual Machines using the replication group in the vCenter

    • These are the Virtual Machines that are in this vCenter that are using a storage policy and have selected the specific replication group

  8. Active Operation and status

By selecting one of the replication groups and then clicking on the manage button this will navigate to the Replication Group Management View

Replication Group Management View

This page allows all of the operations for the replication group to be executed. In the top of the page, the array and replication group will be displayed along with more information for the specific replication group.

  8. Peer Array(s)

  9. Virtual Machine List

    • The virtual machines that are in this vCenter using the replication group.

  10. Active Operation and Status

    • Below this section, each of the steps for the currently running or most recent workflow will be displayed.
