Everpure Cloud Dedicated for AWS is the customer-managed AWS offering for the Everpure Cloud services portfolio. It's a software-defined service using native AWS resources and the Purity Operating System to deliver enterprise-grade block storage with consistent data services across your on-premises and cloud environments.

Key Benefits

  • Consistent storage and operational model across on-premises FlashArray and AWS.

  • Simplified deployment (CloudFormation-based) and management using existing FlashArray GUI, CLI, and API workflows.

  • Reduced cloud consumption and cost via inline deduplication, compression, thin provisioning, and efficient snapshots/clones.

  • Improved resiliency through built-in protection, auto-healing, and replication across AZs/regions.

  • Supports data mobility use cases: disaster recovery, migration, test/dev, and backup.

Audience & Use Cases

For teams seeking enterprise block storage in AWS with a storage model aligned to FlashArray operations, the platform provides compatibility for Amazon EC2, Kubernetes-based environments such as EKS, and the Amazon Elastic VMware Service.

  • Infrastructure teams building hybrid/multi-cloud strategies.

  • Finops teams implementing data reduction, thin provisioning and other solutions.

  • Application teams redeploying workloads in AWS without redesigning storage.

  • Organizations needing disaster recovery, migration, test/dev, or backup workflows between on-premises and AWS.

  • AWS customers running EC2 workloads that require enterprise data services (e.g., snapshots, encryption, replication, data reduction).

How it Works

  1. Deploy into your Amazon VPC using a Pure-provided AWS CloudFormation template.

  2. AWS provisions the core architecture: two Amazon EC2 controller instances and seven initial Virtual Drives.

  3. Controllers run Purity-based data services (reduction, snapshots, encryption, replication). Virtual Drives store and copy data to Amazon S3.

  4. Post-deployment, EC2 hosts connect via iSCSI or NVMe/TCP; administrators manage volumes using standard FlashArray GUI, CLI, and APIs.

Prerequisites

Before deployment, ensure you have:

  • AWS VPC (private and public subnets)

  • VPC endpoints for Amazon S3 and DynamoDB

  • Security groups for iSCSI, management, and replication traffic

  • IAM role with sufficient deployment permissions

  • An EC2 key pair

  • A valid license key and your AWS account ID added to Pure1

For Terraform deployment, you need:

  • Terraform

  • AWS CLI

  • Everpure OpenConnect

    • Terraform provider (installed and configured)

Always consult the current AWS deployment and prerequisites documentation for the latest requirements.

Deployment

  1. Sign in to AWS Management Console and open CloudFormation.

  2. Launch the Everpure Cloud Dedicated deployment template into your target Amazon VPC.

  3. Provide prerequisite inputs (networking, IAM, key pair, licensing).

  4. After completion, establish iSCSI or NVMe/TCP connections from EC2 hosts and manage volumes using standard Pure interfaces.
